2012 RDS - Where is the user logged on from?

Since the release of  Windows Server 2012 the tools and techniques for administrating terminal servers have changed a little. One handy tool, Terminal Services Manager, is no longer present and others have been rolled into the various Server Manager screens. One small change that we didn't immediately cotton on to is the Client Name column in the User tab in Task Manager is no longer enabled by default. This shows which machine a user is connecting to a RDS from and is particularly handy now that the Terminal Services Manager is gone. To get this column to show again on in Server 2012 and 2012 R2:
  1. Open Task Manager (right click on the task bar and select Task Manager)
  2.  If you get the small window (no tabs along the top) click More details to expand
  3. Select the Users tab
  4. Right click on the column names at the top (User, Status, CPU etc.)
  5. Click Client Name
Task Manager Users Client Name Et voilà! The Client Name column is back and you can now easily confirm the computer name of the client machine the user is connecting to the RDS from.
What do Glo do?
